Pay Equity is “Comp”licated: New Laws, New Reporting and How to Protect Your Organization
Over the past year, we have seen the movement around pay equity and closing the “pay gap” pick up steam at the state and national level. New aggressive pay equity laws are rolling across the country state by state, activist investors are pressuring companies to publicly disclose their pay gaps, and even President Trump and his daughter Ivanka have made pronouncements in favor of equal pay for women. So while President Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress have promised to relieve businesses of burdensome regulations enacted during President Obama’s Administration, it’s safe to say that the “pay” train has already left the station.
- Attendees will learn about the pay equity movement from the administration and government agencies and how to comply with state and federal requirements.
- Attendee will discuss developments in the pay equity arena, including the 20+ states that have proposed or are expected to pass new or expanded equal pay laws.
- We will discuss and recommend resources available for employers and provide practical advice for employers who are facing external and internal pressure to hop on the train.
